Servings: 4
Preparation Time: 12 min
Cooking Time: 16 min
Level of Difficulty: Easy
These sesame-teriyaki burgers are super flavorful — even more so when topped with grilled scallions. They'll make a super addition to your July 4th.

Ingredients

1 1/4 pound(s) lean ground turkey

1 Tbsp ginger root, fresh, finely chopped
1 Tbsp minced garlic

1 tsp sesame oil

1/4 cup(s) teriyaki sauce
1/4 cup(s) scallion(s), chopped

2 Tbsp cilantro, fresh, finely chopped
1 large egg white(s)

2 spray(s) cooking spray
8 medium scallion(s), root ends trimmed

4 item(s) reduced-calorie hamburger roll(s)

Instructions

  • Preheat a grill (or grill pan) to medium-high; cover to maintain heat

  • In a large bowl, combine turkey, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, teriyaki sauce, chopped scallions, cilantro and egg white; mix thoroughly with your hands or a spoon.

  • Make 4 burgers, about 3 1/2-inches across and 3/4-inches wide.

  • Place burgers on a nonstick baking tray; coat with cooking spray. Flip burgers and coat other side with cooking spray.

  • Place burgers on heated grill (or grill pan) and cook, flipping once, until fully cooked, about 5 to 7 minutes per side. A few minutes before burgers are done, place whole scallions on center of grill and cook, turning once, until bright green and charred, about 2 minutes.

  • Remove burgers and scallions to a plate; lightly toast rolls on grill. Serve each burger on a roll topped with 2 scallions.

CHECK IN #2! PLUS SOMETHING ABOUT YOU!

Hi ladies!

First off, I apologize that I have been slacking on updates. The past two weeks have been crazy with Easter, DS' 9 month appointment, and traveling!

I guess we should have a check in for this week, right?

Please post your stats per usual in the comments section and I will dutifully add them to the post!

Also along with your stats this week, please include a paragraph or so "bio" about yourself to share.

And, I know I said I would post recipes, so, if you have any favorites please e-mail them to me at bumpwwblog@hotmail.com! Thanks and hope your journey is going amazingly!

current: 131.4
goal: 120
lost this week: -2.2
high point: I was extremely relieved after indulging in WAY too much Easter candy that I still lost!
what i'm struggling with: Along with what I said above- it's really hard around holidays not to give in to things like candy and just eating more over-all!
tips/suggestions: I don't keep candy/sweets in the house. If it's around I will have DH take it to work or pawn it off on someone else!
bio: I am a 24 year old mama getting ready to rejoin the workforce! I am nervous about leaving LO in daycare, but excited to get back to being productive creatively and contributing to our family financially!

goal: 150
lost this week: -2.2 (weigh in sat)
So far: 19.4 lbs
high point: I reached my 10% goal, and received my keychain in my meeting!
tips/suggestions: Get a buddy!!! i've been doing this w/ my mom and best friend and its so much easier having extra support and someone to go walking with!

Bean & Pasta Soup (3 points)

Ingredients:

1/2 c pinto beans
1/4 c whole wheat cooked pasta
1/4 c onion
1 slice canadian bacon, uncooked
1/8 tsp rosemary
1 c fat free chicken broth

Combine all ingredients into a saucepan and simmer for 5 minutes. Add a roasted garlic clove for taste! It was so filling because of the beans and the pasta. Lots of fiber, and definitely not lacking in taste because the rosemary and chicken broth added tons of flavor.

rubyshoes
current: 138.6
goal: 120
lost this week: 2.6
high point: I have to say I'm really surprised I lost so much on the first week! I was also surprised that I didn't feel deprived. Lovin' it.
what i'm struggling with: I have had a few times where I was tempted to eat whatever I want, as much as I want, like I used to, but I keep reminding myself that losing wait is more important to me than eating that extra dessert.
tips/suggestions: I feel like variety is key. Eating the same thing gets boring, so I switch it up often!

current: 235
goal: 220
lost this week: 3
high point: I actually turned down a decadent dessert and had a FF pudding cup instead.
what i'm struggling with: trying to find time to exercise!
tips/suggestions: i buy steamable veggies in hopes to get my veggies in since they are easy to cook.

Started at: 163.?
Mini Goal: lose 10 lbs
Big Goal: lose (Approx.) 30
Lost: 7.5 (4 last week & 3 this week? I think)
High point: I turned down chocolate cake out and walked past the ice cream & chip aisles at the store yesterday.
Struggling with: Keeping up with everything (meal planning, shopping, cleaning, & getting exercise in - especially now that it is nice out, I prefer to walk with DS than go to gym and I worry the weight will creep back on)
Tips/Suggestions: I have been buying fruit/yogurt as snacks vs. crackers/pantry stuff - we don't have a lot of room to store things anyhow, so I remind myself it helps with clutter & weight.

First Check-In: Wednesday March 17

Happy Friday ladies!

Feel free to grab the button to the left to add to your siggy!

I will be posting the first check in on Wednesday, March 17! (St. Patrick's Day) I know that everyone has different personal check-in days, but no worries! Everyone can just post their progress at the moment, their high points this week, their low points, and what you feel you can improve on!

Every day I will try to post a new WW recipe, whether it is one that I have tried, one that I've pulled from the website, or recipes that you tried and loved! Please send your favorite WW recipes to bumpwwblog@hotmail.com so that I can share them with everyone!

I think it would also be fun if everyone wrote a little bio about themselves to share with the other girls!

Good luck ladies, I hope this week is a great one for you!
